Sculpture Milwaukee: 2023 Exhibition

Sculpture Milwaukee is a free, outdoor art experience in and around downtown Milwaukee. For nearly a decade, they’ve brought world-class sculptures to the public in their annual exhibitions. Sculpture Milwaukee brought me on to design their 2023 poster, exhibition map, and brochure.

Inspired by the recurring theme of nature in Sculpture Milwaukee’s new exhibitions, the poster explores the interaction of urban and natural environments by imagining the city as a cluster of hanging flower baskets. Stylized interpretations of art pieces from the exhibitions are featured as elements of the Milwaukee skyline, which is dotted with landmarks and local cultural references.
